Black River Academy Museum. Black River Academy in Ludlow provides a look into the lives of Ludlow’s early settlers and embodies the cultural heritage of the Black River Valley through instruction in traditional crafts, small theater productions, and three floors of exhibits, which include an early American house, Main St. Ludlow circa 1900, and Calvin Coolidge's school days at the academy. Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts. Tucked into the Green Hills of Vermont in the towns of Ludlow and Cavendish sits one of the jewels of the Black River Valley Fletcher Farm School ,Vermont’s oldest arts and crafts school where 200 year old buildings have been converted into classrooms. Calvin Coolidge Historic Site. Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site is one of the best preserved Presidential sites in the nation. Tour the homestead in Plymouth Notch, Vermont where Vice President Calvin Coolidge was sworn in as President in his boyhood home on August 3, 1923. The homestead remains as it was the night Coolidge took office, and much of the village is unchanged since the early 20th century. Black River. The Black River is a medium-sized river in southeastern Vermont that offers a rewarding paddling trip for kayakers and canoers, and is the best for fly fishing in Vermont. The riverbed is larger than most and the rocks are small, so there’s much room for maneuvering, although several sections do have boulders that make it a challenge. When the water is high the current can be fast.

Cavendish Trail/Horse Rides. Enjoy breathtaking scenery as you journey on horseback through fields and hills in the heart of Vermont. Experience group wagon rides, pony rides for young children and winter sleigh rides.

Camp Plymouth State Park. Camp Plymouth is comprised of 295 acres, including the 46 developed acres near Echo Lake. Located in Plymouth on the east shore of Echo Lake on Boy Scout Camp Road, the Park offers a large picnic area with barbeque pits, a children’s playground, a sandy beach, horseshoe pits, volley ball courts, a concession stand, restrooms and changing areas, as well as kid’s fishing pier and boat rental on the north side of Buffalo Brook.  [Top]
Green Mountain National Forest. Green Mountain National Forest in southwestern Vermont provides abundant recreation and natural resources. The Forest's diverse landscapes range from the rugged, exposed heights of the Green Mountains to quiet, secluded hollows in the Wilderness. Quechee Gorge. Quechee Gorge is one of Vermont’s most amazing and unique natural spectacles. Plunging 165 feet down to the Ottauquechee River, Quechee Gorge looks almost surreal. Weston Playhouse. Named "the most beautiful theatre in New England" by the Boston Globe, the Playhouse offers an intimate 300-seat auditorium as well as spectacular views of an historic mill and waterfall on the charming Village Green in Weston, VT.
